Festivals

Staff & students at the Sheffield DocFest 2009

The Northern Film School is keen to promote the films of its students through submission and distribution in film festivals. Festivals are a key environment for any prospective filmmaker to see what is upcoming, and to make valuable contact with other professionals.

In recent years we have supported student visits to key industry festivals, including

Sheffield Documentary Film Festival
‘BAF’, the Bradford animation festival
CameraImage, the international cinematography festival in Poland

We have annual programmes of films screened at

Leeds International Film Festival
NAHEMI run ‘Eat Our Shorts’ festival at the BFI South Bank complex
and our own Bi-annual ‘Industry Week’ where post-graduate students attend panels, screenings and networking events in London.
