What is is about?
You will have a chance to work with a casting director through the casting process, to rehearse and shoot scenes with professional actors under the guidance of an experienced director. You can bring your own script to work with, if you wish. You will gain an insight into how actors prepare, explore the rehearsal process and will hear a critique of your process from both the actors and instructors following a screening and discussion of your work shot in class.

What is it about?
Idea to Screen is a three day practical course for anyone interested in making a short drama or documentary film.
Idea to Screen takes participants through a step-by-step programme that is aimed at anyone who may be interested in at filmmaking and wants to give it a go in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Mentored by the Northern Film School's professional teaching staff, with extensive industry experience and expertise in writing, direction, production, camera, sound and editing, this short course gives all participants a combination of essential theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical experience.

Mind Your Own Business 2011 - Make A Film
Two full days (weekends only) at Northern Film School, Electric Press, Leeds LS2 3AD
What is it about?
Delegates will write a script, choose a crew role e.g. camera, director or art director, make a film - on location, or in the studio depending on the script - then edit the film and host a film festival to show off their work. All apects will be taught by experienced Northern Film School filmmakers.
